Konkan is Maharashtra’s rich coastal area which consists of six districts including Mumbai city. Mumbai is also capitol of Maharashtra and also financial capitol of India. Six districts under Konkan are as below.

Dapoli is small town in Ratnagiri and a perfect place for beach holiday.

Sindhudurg fort
Sindhudurg fort is a fort that occupied an islet in the Arabian sea. The fort was constructed by Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Ratnagiri city
Ratnagiri city is district place which is also well known for its clean beach area known as Bhatye Beach and attractive sea-side. This city is also famous for various markets which sell alphonso(Ratnagiri hapus), jack fruit (fanas) cashew and coconut. Fish market from city is also well known in India.
Chiplun
Chiplun is on bank of Vashisthi river and it is famous for its tourist places. The city has its own ‘TAJ’ Hotel developed first in Maharashtra near riverview and it is now known as “Quality Resort The Riverview”. Savatsada waterfall attract many tourists in June-July. Shivasamarth Gad is a fort near Chiplun which has preserved sculptures from Maharaja Shivaji’s times.
Ganpatipule
Ganapatipule is around 21 km from Ratnagiri. This place is famous for it old Ganesha temple. Another well known attraction is Parashurām temple built in 1685.
Guhagar
Guhagar is famous for its beautiful virgin beach. Another attraction at Guhagar are Durga Devi temple and Vyadeshwar temple. Velneshwar and Hedvi are other two close places famous for natural beauty and old temples.
