Pav bhaji is Maharashtra’s street food. It is usually made with vegetable and spices and served with soft bread roll. It take less time to cook. Nowadays, this is also a very popular recipe in India, like by almost everyone.
When I am lazy to cook on entire meal for my family. Pav bhaji is one of the dish first come in my mind. This recipe is easy, quick and also simple to cook. Which fill your stomach and satisfies your tasting buds.

Ingredients
- • 1 cup chopped onion
- • 1 and ½ cup chopped tomato
- • ½ cup cauliflower
- • ½ cup potato
- • 1/3 cup green peas
- • 1/3 cup green capsicum
- • 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
- • 1 tbsp red chili powder
- • 1 and 1/2 tbsp pav bhaji masala
- • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
- • Coriander and lemon for garnishing
- • Butter
- • 4 tbsp oil
- • Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash all vegetables and chop them roughly except tomatoes and onions.
- Boil roughly chopped cauliflower, capsicum, potatoes, and green peas in pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
- Let cooker cool down completely then take vegetables out and smash them with smasher. You can use blender.
- Heat up oil in kadhai on medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add chopped onion.
- Sauté onion till it changes in brownish pink color.
- Add chopped tomatoes. Sauté again until tomatoes start to melt.
- Now add ginger garlic paste. Sauté till raw aroma of the ginger garlic paste disappears.
- Add 1 and 1/2 tbsp pav bhaji masala, red chili powder. Stir all things together for 2 minutes.
- To avoid mixture sticking in bottom, add 2 tbsp of water. Do not add more than 2 tbsp.
- Let simmer on slow heat till you can see that oil is getting separated a bit.
- Now add smashed vegetables it and stir mixture for two minutes.
- Add salt to taste.
- If you need smash it again.
- Pav bhaji is ready. Pour some butter, and garnish with coriander, chopped onion.
- Roast pav on tava with butter. Serve with roasted pav. If pav is not available you can also serve with roasted or plain bread.
